Thame, OxfordshireAwful builders. Built an extension, started 6 months late, never had men on site for days at a time, when I contacted the owner to ask why no one on site was told, “ I am sick to death of people like you moaning at me.” I should have walked away at that stage but I let him continue after an apology. Roof was never watertight even after several attempts by him and his subcontractor to rectify the issue. I had a number of different roofers in to try and sort it but each time they just kept uncovering another problem. 6 months after the build Gavin Way ( owner ) simply wished his hands of it and said it was now out of warranty. I eventually had to have the whole roof removed and rebuilt by a competent roofer. They uncovered a whole catalogue of issues, tie plates were not secured to the walls, waterproof meme brand had holes in it, lead flashing was wholly inadequate, batons under the tiles were absolutely rotten where they had been sitting in water, the ridge at the back of the tile to prevent water being blown backwards and under the tile had been cut off in order to make them fit……the list just goes on! Avoid like the plague. There are better building companies in and around Thame in Oxfordshire…..I just wish I had used one of them.
